Trading assistants could help you make a mint
Mike Petraglia never owned a Chatty Cathy Doll. He never listened to the soundtrack to the 1987 movie "Summer School," and he never had the urge to put giant chrome rims on his car.
But in the span of a month, he's sold all three items on eBay, the Internet auction site -- and made a tidy profit in the process. That "Summer School" soundtrack alone sold for a mind-boggling $78, while Chatty Cathy brought in another $100 and the rims took in $400.
Petraglia operates Auction Stop, a Bloomfield business that coordinates eBay auctions for sellers. During the past two years, the Hampton man has set up more than 6,000 auctions for customers.
It makes you realize how much money is out there," he said. "It's amazing.
